Exaggeration Number

The number you typically use to exaggerate a situation or scenario.

Although there are many numbers to choose from, you tend to stick to your own exagger-number.
"I heard he has like, twelve million siblings"

"There were about twelve million people at that show!"

"Pretty sure he slept with at least twelve million people."

That's my exaggeration number

Exaggeration Pull-Back

When you use hyperbole to express something large or long, and then take it back. Usually done quietly.
Sean: There were like a MILLION people at the party! Actually it was more like 40, but whatever.

Evan: *cough cough Exaggeration Pull-back cough cough*

Curse exaggeration

When some one turns a story they heard into the most dirty thing ever basically adding a bunch of curse words to a sentence making it somewhat more interesting
John: tell Sarah that I have her pen

Josh: k hey Sarah John has your fucking pen and if your bitch ass wants it back you have to fuck him you bitch
Sarah: liar I know that was curse exaggeration

Random-Number Exaggeration

Exaggerating the amount or quantity of something by using a completely random number. Can be referred to as RNE.
1. Ted: (Talking to his buddy, Greg, about a large meeting he just had) "The were like 287 people in that meeting."
Greg: "What a random-number exaggeration."

2. Jim: (Walking out of a chinese buffet and talking to his friend, Jim) "I swear there were about 324 black people eating there."
John: "Pretty large RNE, but damn it was packed with them."

academic exaggeration

When your professor draws an extra distinction where one barely exists or none exists in an effort to prove to you their superior understanding of the material. Typically used on examples and counterexamples brought up by the class.
A: "Actually, the truth condition of 'Santa Claus is your parents' is false. 'Santa Claus' refers instead to the idea of a fat man going down a chimney and leaving gifts, and your parents don't fit those descriptors..."
B: "....gdi."

B: ">_>"
C: "Whoa, Richard used academic exaggeration on you again didn't he?"

Pre-emptive exaggeration

The act of exaggerating a story, because you think everyone will assume you are whether you do or not.
Pre-emptive exaggeration would be telling your friends you were in line for 2 hours when it was only 1, because you know if you say 1 they will assume you were exaggerating and it was only half an hour.
