An ironic meme, playing on the past high volume usage of the word bruh, both in the majority's language and especially within the
black vernacular. It used to
mean another word for brother, brethren, then it shifted towards an expression of disbelief or slight disapproval, used mostly in the midst of coming to terms with something. Now it's degraded towards a mere reflection of it's past glory, used as an ironic meme meaning that whatever is within the meme is something which you should
go "bruh" at, and react with disbelief, as it's an epic bruh moment. Though this usually means it's anything but epic, take the overused: "My
Wife Left Me" and it's many variations. It's now been mostly ditched, replaced by many other words, take "
vro" and the resurgence of "bro". The usage of the word bruh peaked in
2016-17, and died in
2018. It began it's reign around august in 2014, after the video of Tony Farmer's reaction to being given a prison sentence became
popular, and his expression of disbelief, the aforementioned "bruh" became disseminated throughout mass media through meme culture, and vines, in which the sound
clip would be used heavily.
Past: "Hey, Stacy said you raped her, you're legitimately going to catch a
case."
"Bruh"
Present: "My dog just died, I went
sicko mode on it with my
AA Shotgun."
