This could be triggered by events such as award ceremonies, lawsuit news, sad fanmade videos/art/fiction, anniversaries, fan wars, or news of the success/setback of other k-pop groups.

It usually involves one or more pieces from a traditional three-piece suit, like a vest or slacks, worn with trendy emo bum-gharb (black pleather, pre-frayed crap, army boots, etc). When dressed in an emosuit, it looks like a child who went through their parent's closet to play dress-up, or an important person who lived in squalor wearing one suit for an entire year. It is a confused, irrelevant, and often amusing look that, for the wearers, is "dressing up."
