The droste effect is the effect of a picture recursively appearing within itself, in a place where a similar picture would realistically be expected to appear. Similar to owned, however rather than being defeated by skill or talent, it is the result being partnered or teamed with another person who's ineptitude knows no bounds and their mere presence is enough to cause an entire race of people to be wiped from the face of the earth.
