At first, the tone towards Casca in the first few chapters she's been introduced is that she's extremely unlikable as she nags on the main character, Guts, but she eventually grows on us up until she is raped by her former role model and leader of the Band of the Hawk, Griffith turned Femto. After this, Casca goes through serious memory loss and turns into a mute who can barely wield a sword.
