It’s often associated with players or streamers who may focus on creating moments that are likely to get a lot of attention, rather than focusing purely on genuine gameplay or entertainment.

A gamer might start clipfarming by purposely going for flashy plays or controversial moments just to create viral clips that boost their profile.
A streamer might set up scenarios in their broadcasts with the goal of creating highly shareable moments for social media, rather than focusing on a broader, more authentic content experience.

Clip Farming

"Clip Farming" is when a close friend makes fun of you or acts completely different to either a group of friends or a female they find attractive, trying to impress them or just trying to get attention.

Scenario 1: During lunch, everyone in the friend group is joking like usual. But when another group of friends comes over, one guy suddenly starts roasting his close friend and acting totally different so the new group will laugh and notice him. The rest of the friend group knows he’s just clip farming for attention.
Scenario 2: When Spencer is alone with his best friend group, he’s chill and normal. But as soon as a girl he likes walks over, he starts making fun of his close friend and acting loud and fake just to get laughs and attention. His friends call that clip farming because he’s switching up to impress someone else.
