Appdiction

noun: A compulsive obsession with downloading applications on digital devices, characterized by an overwhelming and uncontrollable urge that mirrors substance addiction. Individuals suffering from Appdiction often find themselves accumulating hundreds or even thousands of apps, leading to cluttered devices, anxiety over choices, and a constant craving for the next download.
My Appdiction has taken over my life; with over 1,300 apps on my iPhone and countless more deleted, I can’t remember the last time I felt satisfied with just one.

update addiction

A debilitating psychological condition which affects computer users everywhere. Update addiction has to do with the excessive downloading of software updates and should not be confused with an Updating Whore. You are likely an update addict if...

You click "Software Update..." (on Mac) or "Windows Update" (on Windows) more than three times a day.

You cannot resist buying the latest version of software or operating system -- even if you don't need, want, or even care to know about the new features.

You click "Check for updates" every time you run a program.

You stay up late watching the progress bar to make sure your latest update "really updated."

You get frustrated by stable software because it doesn't require updates every other day. So you always choose beta or nightly builds to ensure that you can download a maximum number of updates.
Dude: Dang! I just clicked Software Update, and it didn't find anything to update. What am I going to do???

Chick: (rolls eyes) Dunno man. Click it again?

Dude: Ok.

Chick: You need help. You have update addiction.

Dude: Ok, but before I go to the clinic, I need to go buy XYZSoft5. I only have XYZSoft4.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
