Actionbait
A form of bait designed to provoke a user into doing something negative, controversial, or illegal—actions that can have consequences both online and in real life. Actionbaiting involves manipulating someone into behavior they wouldn't otherwise consider: breaking a rule, harassing another user, engaging in illegal activity. The baiter provides temptation, removes obstacles, offers encouragement, and documents every step. When the target acts, the evidence is used against them—reported to authorities, shared publicly, used to destroy reputation. Actionbait is the art of turning people into perpetrators for entertainment.
Example: "He goaded her into sending a angry message to a troll, assuring her it would feel good, that no one would care. She did. He screenshotted it and reported her for harassment. Actionbait had worked: he'd provoked the action, then used it against her. She was banned; he was still there, baiting the next target."
