To pay a bribe to someone, typically an authority figure such as a judge or cop. Generally used with the subject, e.g. "slip the cop a few bucks", etc.

Observing ships passing by, sitting by a river or a seashore, analogue to trainspotting. A type of a hobby or a time-waster, popular among teens in the cities, located on or near the rivers.
This couple come here day after day, hugging and shipspotting.
