One of those cliché presentation aids that places the letters of the key word vertically and assigns a word or sentence to each letter.

Here is an example of a vertical acronym:

S-Size up the situation.
U-Undue haste makes waste.
R-Remember where you are.
V-Vanquish fear and panic.
I-Improvise (use your Imagination).

The use of acronyms in everyday conversation. Taken from the instant messaging chat speak way of communicating.

Teacher: "I'd like you to do your presentation first please"
Student: "N.T.Y."

This student is saying "No Thank You" using Acronym Chat (AC)

However 'lol' is usually said "lllolll" rather than L.O.L so would not classify as an AC.

Ahorn

A term which may used interchangably with asshole, as well as an endearing term for a person who just did something silly, stupid, laughable or downright absurd. Can also be used as an exclamation of frustration.

"Ugh all guys are ahorns"

"Did you just wet yourself? You freakin' ahorn!"

"I lost my wallet! AHORN!!!!"
