delta sierra

This is a military acronym, from the Vietnam war era. It stands for "DS" which is how military personnel would describe a bad situation, or poorly planned mission. It stands for "dog shit."
This phrase is derived using the phonetic alphabet (Military Alphabet). Instead of saying Dog Shit, you would say, Delta Sierra instead so everyone over the radio can understand and know what you mean.
By using the first letter of each word and converting that to the Military Alphabet you get the phrase "delta sierra."

Delta Force

The 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta is The United States Army's premeir Counter-Terrorist unit. Delta along with Navy SEAL Team 6 (DEVGRU) and The Air Force's 24th STS form JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command.). Delta Force usually recruits primarily from the 75th Ranger Regiment, yet many Delta Operatives have earned their Green Beret and went through Ranger School before going through Delta screening. Delta Force has been rumored to have a drop out rate of 99.972%. (Example: If you gathered 100,000 fully grown, adult males only 28 could pass Delta screening.) Delta also cross-trains with The British Special Air Service and other Special Forces units of Allied countries.

Earn a Green Beret, get your Ranger tab, go through Delta Force Screening and maybe cross-train with The Grandfathers of Special Operations (The British Special Air Service.). How many people could do it?

Delta Tau Delta

Delta Tau Delta was founded in 1858 at Bethany College in present day West Virginia Eight men, angered by a fixed vote for a prize in oratory to be given at the Neotrophian Literary Society (a forum for students to practice and demonstrate skills in poetry, public speaking and writing essays), responded by forming a secret society. The purpose of the new society, known only by the Greek letters Delta Tau Delta, was to see the Neotrophian Society returned to popular control.

Delta Tau Delta was born of the knowledge that integrity is essential. The founding principles of Truth, Courage, Faith and Power have provided a guide for both the Fraternity and its membership.

Since 1858 the Fraternity has spread to nearly 200 campuses with over 115 active chapters and colonies comprised of about 6,000 undergraduate members. Just shy of 150 years, Delta Tau Delta has in excess of 154,000 men who have become members of the Fraternity.

Alpha Delta Pi

Alpha Delta Pi (aka ADPi) was the first secret society (sorority) for women and was founded on May 15th, 1851. Their mascot is a lion, their symbol is a diamond, and their flower is a violet. ADPis are very caring women and work very hard to help out their communities and their philanthropy, which is the Ronald McDonald House Charities. These women are classy and don't feel the need to bash other sororities since they were the first. They are usually very outgoing and fun. They know how to have a good time with out getting drunk and looking like a hot mess. Alpha Delta Pi has a great reputation and great sisterhood. ADPi chapters are unique because they are so diverse and don't discriminate againt anybody. They get the best girls during rush and their sisters are not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside too. Their motto is "we live for each other."

"I'm an Alpha Delta Pi! They offered me a bid and I'm accepting it!"
