Acting

Acting is the art, profession or occupation of performing in a stage play, movie, television or radio program. Acting is basically pretending to be someone other than yourself, known as a character or sometimes fictional character, and using your facial expressions, vocals, emotions and body language to bring the character to life, in front of a screen or audience. In acting you are suppose to act as if no one is around but you and the other actors (In a scene, there is no such thing as an audience, camera, producer, director, etc. None of them exist). When acknowledging the audience or the camera, this is known as "breaking the fourth wall", which is the imaginary wall that seperates the actors from the audience. This usually happens in comedy. For example, really the cameras and the front of the stage are, in a sense, "us" looking at the audience and if the actors acknowledge us and the that we're watching them, that's breaking out of character and acknowledging they're fictionality. Acting is a very interesting job and, just like everyone can't sing, everyone cannot act. Acting, just like singing, is destined for certain people. Thank God I can do both, lol
Acting is reacting and showing another side of yourself that maybe you didn't even know you had.

Actioned

Absolute bollocks spoken by incompetent managers, particularly those that work in the civil service or call centre environment, who wander round uselessy with bits of paper, bollocking people for no good reason other than they are a Grade A twat.
"Phil, I gave you this case to complete last week. Why has it not been actioned?"

"I've been busy colouring in Shere Khan and Baloo from The Jungle Book."

"Oh..."

Acton tux

The atire of a resident of the town of Acton (aka "the armpit of Ontario") on a special occasion or ANY occasion for that matter. The atire consists of a plaid lumber jacket and cougar boots with the tongues out.
Sandy: "Are you wearing your Acton tux to the wedding ?"
Aaron: "Um... what ?"
Sandy: "Your Acton tux - you wearing it ?"
Aaron: "Ummm... what ?"
Sandy: "Nevermind"

Actin' A Fool

When one is wilin' out, often but not exclusively in situations that are hazardous. Having a wide range of applications within the vernacular, "acting a fool" can apply equally to jovial tomfoolery between contemporaries as it can to verbal threats directed at any individual who ought to slow their roll to avoid serious consequences.

In popular culture: As featured on the soundtrack to 1994’s “Above The Rim,” Tupac Shakur describes a turbulent period of troublemaking in high school: “I was a fool all through high school, kickin’ up dust,” later on the track “acting a fool” is used as synonymous with the same behavior.

Xzibit uses the phrase to as a descriptor synonymous with “sprung” in the S&M-themed hit “Choke Me, Spank Me, Pull My Hair,” whereas on “Act A Fool,” Mac Dre describes the complicated relationship between an attractive woman and her suitor.
"Tell me whatcha gon' do? Act a fool." -Ludacris

Acton, MA

A small and pointless town where all places of recreation where at one point torn down and turned into ugly apartments that no one ever bought, or were gutted and are left as lone standing buildings waiting until the day they fall, much like the Mineke and the McDonald's.

The school system is decent, full of teachers who care too much about things that aren't important. There are a range of stereotypes, including the normal portugese cliques, the stereotypical blacks, the druggies, the skaters (what's the difference between the two latter? no one knows,) the sluts, the preps, the emos, the scenies, and the jocks. There's tons of homophobia from the vast majority of jocks, but there is a more broad acceptance of homosexuality than most other schools. The GSA's pretty big.

There's essentially nowhere to hang out. Drug dealings go on primarily behind the Bowladrome, a dark place where children go to bowl, win cheap prizes from the arcade, and possibly be kidnapped and never seen again. Most of the town goes through a Starbucks every now and again since the installment of one several years ago. There's a zillion Dunkin Donuts and probably seven billion ATMs. The kids have no cash and get by by smoking serious weed and being losers. Nothing too great.

And we believe that you can't spell "losers" without LS, standing for Lincoln-Sudbury (Drunkin' Drugsbury), our sports rival.

P.S. The girls do not cut off their toes for crack.
1: Where you from?
2: Acton, MA
1: Where the hell is that?
2: Exactly.

actiony

An event with a large amount of exciting events that seem to overshadow the actual psychological significance of the situation. Often dismissing real character development of the individual due to the fact that the character is too distracted and unrealistically developed to such a status that only a robot could be its equal.
Columbus didnt want to go see any new hollywood films because they were much too actiony for his artsy taste.
