langolier

Small demon-like creatures with fast legs that eat up the lazy people "who don't get the big picture".

Large levitating ball-shaped demons with leech-like chainsaw-teeth that eat up the world of yesterday.

Fictional creatures created by Stephen King.

Mysterious creature that edits or removes old entries on a blog - usually because the entries are embarrassing to the blogger. Longoliers are similar to the Ministry of Truth, in George Orwell's Book 1984, in that they function to falsify history.

Australian journalist and blogger Tim Blair was the first to use "Longoliers" to describe this phenomenon. The term was originally used by author Stephen King to describe beings who devour the past.
Longoliers have been busy in th archives of Little Green Footballs and The Daily Dish as the bloggers have moved from right to left on the political spectrum.

Langeleering

The act of telling any woman at any given time that she is "a great lady" regardless of whether or not she's actually done something great.
A woman gives man dirty look, tells him to go away, man replies "you're a great lady". Once that statement is made, the man is officially Langeleering.

Langoliers

1) Spherical creatures with bottomless throats and a voracious appetite, the eponymous entities of the first novella in the Stephen King quartet Four Past Midnight.

The world of life and consciousness is forever passing down the stream of time, and the uninhabited, chemically inert world left behind - inadvertently visited by sleeping passengers on a plane that flies through a time rift - awaits being carved up by the jaws of what one character refers to as the timekeepers of eternity, but which might more accurately be described as the blow-fly larvae of the space-time continuum. From a distance, the sound of their munching is somewhat like the sound of radio static ... and that is as close as you want to get. As another character, Craig Toomey, envisions them, these creatures are purpose personified; in the horror stories he heard as a child from his insanely pushy father he was told how their sole purpose is to chase down all the lazy people who are not working frantically enough and eat them alive.

2) Referred to when something urgently needs doing, like a college essay due in the morning.
But the sound-wave rolled on toward them - the crunching, smacking, eating sound of the langoliers. (Four Past Midnight, p. 233).

Gotta go. Thesis to finish by next week. Langoliers.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.

Example 2:
“I think Dave is finally accepting his hair loss. He just went full caillou and shaved the whole thing off.”
