A few defining characteristics of a vetflake are as follows:
1. Most definitely a POG or reservist; spent his entire (3-4 year) military career sitting in a motorpool or an office. Refers to his time in South Korea as a "deployment".
2. Always wears Grunt Style, plus cutoff cammies and/or an operator cap. Always. Church, wedding, funeral, doesn't matter, you have to make sure everyone around you knows that you enlisted for their freedom. Grunt Style is interchangeable with Art15 or Nine Line (as long as the shirt is offensive and has at least one obnoxiously large assaulting flag). Bonus points if the apparel says something about being mentally unstable or hating anyone who didn't serve. The more attention, the better.
3. Begins every Facebook argument with, "AS A VETERAN". Believes the opinion of every veteran is superior to the opinion of any civilian by default. Unless, of course, another veteran think's they're a fucking idiot, in which case that veteran is reduced to civilian status, followed by insults of "fobbit" and "pog".
4. Always brags on Facebook about his DD214, posts "You Have No Power Here" memes, but desperately misses being in the military and hates his life as a Walmart greeter or gas station attendant.

Implemented the 4-day work week that appeases only half the crew, and is famous for having supported counter-piracy operations in the Somalian coast. It has a rich history of not-so-stellar commanding officers, the 2 most recent ones being an irascible totalitarian and an egoist who thinks he's stellar.
A faulty CRP Propeller System has caused it numerous delays, and is consequently the chief source of income for BAE ship repair yard.
Although its demographics enjoy a fair share of diversity, every crew member is a closet-racist. There is a scarce number of Asian-Americans and is the one group who are most likely to be discriminated against.
Fraternization is commonplace, and is a direct cause for a growing average number of pregnancies per year.
