Turquzabad is a rural district south of Tehran,
Iran. In Persian, specially a Tehraner slang, it's used as the archetype for a remote, far away, nowhere land. More generally, it's a placeholder name, something
like John Doe, but for places.
Bibi Netanyahu's claims in September 2018 about how Iran hides a nuclear facility in Turquzabad introduced this term to the
English world and made Persian speakers doubt about if someone is pulling his leg.
