Squishy Typing

When you spill your beverage into your keyboard and instead of draining it out, like a normal person, you continue typing like nothing happened much to the bemusement of those who witnessed the spill. Squishy Typing is no delicate matter and practitioners usually have an “Own It!” type mentality. Squishy Typers never tickle the keyboard like an Elmo doll on the cold Christmas morning of 1996. Rather, they opt to pound the keys with the renewed vigor of a frustrated Ludwig van Beethoven raging at the heavens during a tsunami.
Jo: Just picked up my coffee off the warmer as someone asked me a question. I swung around and bonked the edge of my monitor and dumped half the cup in my keyboard...

Levi: I'd like to be sympathetic, but I'm too busy laughing. Hopefully, it was a cheap-o, wired keyboard?

Jo: It is. It's a work keyboard so I’m just squishy typing now.

Levi: I smell a UD entry. Squishy Typing

Jo: Ew Ew!! I'll get Darren on it.

Jo: Confession: I may have baited you into the UD recommendation so I could incorporate our conversation into the example...

Levi: Haha. That makes sense.

Darren: Done.

brady typing

A common form of typing, in which the typist presses each key individually. Instead of relying on the memorized position of keys, the typist must find each key by sight.
"The script took forever to write due to his incessant brady typing."

zone typing

when typing, you instinctively know where on the keyboard sits a given key, and you ready the designated finger for that zone – but you still have to look, in order to avoid a typo-ridden text.
People without training usually start out with the one-handed hunt and peck technique, and gradually progress to the two-handed, knowing-what-you’re-doing-looking, zone typing.

Tubing In Aruba

An expression a typical Harold McGee would use when asking his students to stop daydreaming about being a thousand miles away. Often used during important lectures.
When you're sitting there sweating bullets on the AP exam, I'm going to remember this day, how you didn't hear a word I said. You were off tubing in aruba, a thousand miles away.

brady typing

When you type each key on a keyboard one at a time in an unbearably slow manner aka hunt and peck typing Named for Brady Haran of the Hello Internet podcast.
“Wait a minute Grey I’ll just check Wikipedia for the exact number of fatalities from that tragic plane crash”

Several minutes later

“Wow Brady are you Brady typing! We’ll be here all year”

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
