This program is more music oriented than anything, although you can download many types of files from it. It will most likely not be targeted by the RIAA because the majority of the users upload and download independent and otherwise obscure material.
I've been using it for over a year and have not yet encountered any spyware, adware, malware, trojans, or corrupted files. It's simply the most intuitive and practical p2p there is, not to mention the fact that it has the widest variety.
