Snack foods that are expected to be exceptional, but do not live up to their expectations and result in disappointment, usually utter disappointment. Also a portmanteau of the words "snack" and "sacrilege"

To besmirch the good name or good taste of a snack food; to take a sacred snack food and turn it into something it was never intended to be.
