Counter Sarcasm or "Advanced Sarcasm" is a defense mechanism used by highly trained sarcastic people to counter another persons sarcastic remark by responding to it as if what they just said was actually true.
Waitress: **walks up to table in her uniform with a pad and pen in her hand.**
Customer: Good morning, are you my waitress?
Waitress: No, i'm just standing here looking pretty!(sarcastically)
Customer: Oh, so who's going to take my order then? (Counter Sarcasm)
The punctuation used to identify a sentence as being sarcastic or rhetorical. The punctuation looks very similar to an upside down j. Mostly intended for text messaging and IM, but is excepted in all forms of written comunication.
“Jennifer’s new boyfriend just walked in… He looks like a real winner (Insert SARCASTUS here)”
"Am I the hottest guy you know or what (Insert SARCASTUS here)"
Sarcasm perceptivity deficiency is a socially crippling disorder which renders the sufferer oblivious to sarcasm and leads him to treatsarcastic remarks as if they were sincere.
An interaction with one who suffers from sarcasm perceptivity deficiency might go something like this:
Omar: Hey, let's have an in-depth discussion on existentialism and the significance of man!
Katherine: Gee that sounds reallly fun Omar: Excellent, so Søren Kierkegaard...
