protobiont 

the ancestor of prokaryotic cells. it was basically a bunch of organic molecules surrounded by a membrane. they exhibit some properties associated with living organisms, such as reproduction, metabolism, and what may be a precursor to homeostasis. they may have formed spontaneously in the conditions found on earth around 3.8 billion years ago or perhaps even farther back.

*in Biology class*

"OH MY GOD. Dude. I just found an organism that is way too small to be considered a bacteria, but it seems to reproduce and metabolize itself."
"Yeah, you have a nanobacterium on your hands."
"WTH is a nanobacterium?"
"Oh, nothing, just an organism that some scientists don't consider an organism. It's totally real, though, because it's a modern protobiont."
"WTH is a protobiont?"
"HOW are you in biology?? Just look it up on Urban Dictionary."

protosite 

A fully functional website that seems to represent an existing commercial or nonprofit (.com / .org, et al) entity, but was actually launched in advance of the existence of said entity.

Could be complete hot air, sell-the-sizzle, not-the-steak, or could be a legitimate proposal device.

Typically developed if the developer is trying to set in motion a business, nonprofit, or some self-indulgent pointless scheme, needs to show investors or other participants how the concept may be represented on the Web.

Protobutt

Protobutt (noun)
/ˈproʊtəˌbʌt/

1. The early or underdeveloped stage of a butt; a barely-there posterior.
2. The state of having minimal or no noticeable gluteal development.
3. A humorous term used to describe oneself or others who feel they lack a well-defined backside.

Related Terms:
Flat butt, nonexistent booty, anti-thicc, pancake booty

Etymology:
A combination of “proto-” (meaning early stage or primitive form) and “butt” (meaning posterior). Originally coined in 2024 to describe the struggle of having an underdeveloped behind despite one's best efforts.

"No matter what I wear, it’s just flat—total protobutt situation."
