Consequently, the chemicals from the hairspray become lodged in her brain causing her brain cells to die at an alarming rate. Eventually, this will cause the individual to reach a state of mental retardation. At this point her "poof" becomes a survival mechanism, much like a helmet for her head, in case she runs into doors, walls, windows, etc.
