Polycythemia Vera for felines is basically the same as when a human would get it. A
cat produces to much red blood cells causing blood clots that effect the brain and heart causes their body to shut down. A
cat that has Polycythemia Vera
will have its life shorten and might only live 10 years. Cats that have this will need to be bleed every month, what I mean by that is that they need to take lots of blood from their body and then inject liquid into their body to produce more. That’
s taking out lots of red blood cells so that they can survive. Keep in mind that this is a really rare blood cancer. I’m just writing what I know because my
cat has Polycythemia Vera.. (I forgot to mention that chemotherapy is a treatment, not sure if it full treatments or if it has a big
chance of killing your
cat.. The treatment is around 250 not exactly sure. Also don’t take this information, I’m not a doctor and I don’t want to accidentally kill your
cat, so please talk to a
high experienced vet.)
