is a Turkish girl name which means "waterspring"

Pinar is a girl who has stunning beauty. You will turn into stone if you look at her eyes for more than 10 seconds. In 5 seconds, if you are lucky enough, you may survive with a serious heart attack. Her smile is so beautiful that you can spend all day just watching her. She is smart like hell and knows everything. If you have a Pinar around you, you will be safe and comfortable forever. If you are the lucky guy who deserves her heart, you should be grateful for her presence every single day. Love the cats, protect children, help the elderly, be a good person.
Guy: “Pinar, I think I’ve fallen in love with you”
Pinar: “You love cats?
Guy: “No!”
Pinar: “Ok, just look at my eyes: 10, 9, 8…”

If you know a Pilar, you should consider yourself one of the luckiest people. She’s, probably, the purest person I’ve ever met. There's not a hint of evil in her, always trying to help whenever she can. She loves nature, and that’s why parks are her favourite place to be with the right company. If you need someone, doesn’t matter for what, Pilar will offer herself to help you. She’s like the mom of the group, and will always know how many of them will go next day if someone is missing. Even though she doesn’t seem to, she loves spicy things, such as universities or showers. She is a happy person who laughs at your jokes, who tells you her anecdotes, but, above all, she is the one who, whatever happens, will always love and support you. Her parties are the best, as she always manages to do a unique activity that everyone likes, such as singing “FRIENDS” in a karaoke. She also is down to earth, knowing always better. If you ask her a question, she’ll always answer with a: “Just smile and nod”. But be careful; don’t make her mad, because she will reply with a simple “Good night”.
“Hey Pilar, what did you do this weekend?”
“I almost burned down the park, why?”

¡no pasarán!

No Pasaran means 'they shall not pass' - the phrase comes from the Spanish Civil War of the 1930s, and was used by the Republican troops (the left-wing soldiers fighting against Franco and the Falangists) as a rallying cry in defense of Madrid.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
