Periphery

A orgasmically technical and fresh progressive metal band from Bethesda, Maryland. Founded by Misha "Bulb" Mansoor, the band has by far one of the best drummers in the metal scene today, as well as a vocalist with a range so fucking high it cracks windows, chunky and djenty 7 string guitar riffs that seem to take influence from meshuggah, and induce neck breaking headbanging.
Prog metal fan OMFG did you hear Periphery last night at the Ottobar last night?! They were fucking amazing.

Other fan Just do NOT play Buttersnips with 8,000 watts. PLZ

Periphery

A person or persons one may at some point choose to date/sleep with, but is not currently, mainly due to the factors of a) distance, or b) one or more parties being involved with someone else.
As Mr. Moore enjoys tapping into the periphery, he will doubtless do so with one of these alluring new roommates.

Periphery

An area commonly in a bar or night club that is outside of the center of social interaction.
We were hitting on all these chicks and having a great time, David was just slowing us down because he was all up in the periphery.

Periphery Demographic

Basically, people (especially teens and adults) who read, watch or play something that's not really intended for their actual age demographic. One example is Harry Potter which was originally intended for children and adolescents but quickly caught on with adults as well.
Hank the Cowdog was originally written for adults, but became incredibly popular with children. That's one example of the periphery demographic stereotype reversed (the stereotype being that most think that adults always read something originally intended for kids, but now it's kids reading something originally intended for adults).

periphery friend

A "friend" on the boundary of your social space.

Instead of interrupting the flow of a story with superfluous noise by giving unnecessary context about a person in said story, they can be described as a periphery friend.
Scenario one-

Storyteller: my friend's mum's cousin's son's aunt's dog's dad's wife's godfather's cat's ........'s friend did funny story.

You: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Scenario two-

Storyteller: my periphery friend did funny story.

You: hahahaha, I'm glad you didn't fill that sentence with unnecessary context.

You’re not doing Periperiatrics, are you?
If you must know, that’s what I’m specialising in, innit.
Wow, periperiatrics. The study of Nando’s chicken.

peripheral dick

When using a urinal or urinating in some other public place with more than one person, you become painfully and unavoidably aware of the other party’s penis even though your eyes are directed forwards and upwards.
*walks out the club bathroom*

Man I just copped a lot of peripheral dick in there.
