pavements

According to Adele, things that are able to be chased, or are chase-able.
Bob: Should I give up, or should I just keep on chasing pavements?

Dave: Stop singing that. The lyrics don't even make sense.

Words you can keep

Chasing Pavements

A fruitless activity. Tring to achieve something that is destined to failure, usually as a result of blind hope.
I have been trying to get back with my boyfriend but I think i'm just chasing pavements

Chasing Pavements

Refers to a song by Adele in which she ponders the question: should I give up (this relationship where my BF is cheating on me) or should I just keep chasing pavements? (sidewalks. Staying in the relationship even if it leads nowhere). Adele realized how ridiculous it was that all she was doing was chasing pavements in this crappy relationship and used it as a metaphor.

chasing pavements

Incorrect interpretation of lyrical meaning of song by British Neo Soul singer Adele. Adele said this misinterpretation in urbandictionary caused the song to be banned by several United States radio stations. The song was refers an incident that occurred after a Adele had a fight with a former boyfriend and she was running around the streets at 6AM aimlessly and she thought to herself what you are doing is chasing pavements(sidewalks in U.S.A.)
Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste?
Even If i knew my place should i leave it there?
Should i give up,
Or should i just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

chasing pavements

A fruitless search or mission, particularly relating to love and romance. Coined by singer-songwriter Adele, it referred originally to her running after a boyfriend with whom she had just fought, before realising she was 'chasing an empty pavement' as he was no longer there.

Chasing Pavements

A song by UK singer Adele.

"Some weirdo on the internet wrote that 'Chasing Pavements' was about being gay, which isn't true at all."

"The guy wrote it on the Urban Dictionary website, which I've used for years and 'chasing pavements' was never on there as a slang term before. Because of that some radio stations in the States wouldn't play it."

Chasing Pavements

A song by Adele.

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (born 5 May 1988 in Enfield, North London), known professionally as Adele, is an English-Welsh jazz singer. Adele has described her musical style as "heartbroken soul". She is the first recipient of the BRIT Awards Critics' Choice, which was given to artists who, at the time, had yet to release an album. She has noted American Jazz and Blues singers Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald as influences. She debuted at number one with her Mercury Prize-nominated debut album 19 on the UK album chart; the disc has since been certified gold with sales of more than 500,000 copies. The album has yet to match its British success in the US, where the album peaked at #54 on the Billboard 200 chart on 8 July 2008; however it did reach #36 on the magazine's "Top Heatseekers" chart.

Purple Patch

To describe coming into something good, coming into good luck and or good times.

Like walking over small green hills in the countryside then coming across a purple patch of flowers, thus it being unique and out of the ordinary.
I hit a real purple patch.
