Get the not safe for work mug.(N)SFE stands for (Not) Safe For Exeos and describes if an anime/manga would be suitable for Exeos#6639 to watch or read.
I am very sensitive when it comes to character deaths in fiction, hence my effort of trying to avoid any kind of series with deaths of likeable characters who you get to know in more or less detail.
If a side character who is never really introduced any further dies, it's not that bad. If the character however has for example a bit of backstory shown and they are easy to relate to/like, that characters death would make a series NSFE.

Examples of (Not) Safe For Exeos -> Attack on Titan, Akame Ga Kill, Code Geass
Examples of SFE -> Fairy Tail, Love is War, Konosuba
A series is also NSFE if it has a sad ending. Sad and/or very emotional passages within the series are fine, as long as the ending is happy. A good example for this would be Kimi no Na wa.
