I have been practicing napstinence ever since I had to pick up the second shift at work. I cannot even find time for a 20 minute nap!

newstinence 

Staying abstinent from news for various reasons, i.e., to avoid consuming any news. Timescales may vary greatly. The extent of newstinence might differ between strict (absolutely no news) to a more moderate level (for example indirect or involuntary news consumption via friends, acquaintances, colleagues, etc.). Can also be used as an adjective, e.g., staying newstinent for some time.

Might be only applicable and sensible to some extent, which depends on the personal situation of an individual as well as the geopolitical situation of their country of residence.

person A: "With all that is going on in the world, reading about all that stuff everyday, I can't anymore, I just can't."
person B: "I know that feeling and newstinence helped me a lot. Been doing it for two years now, but even just staying newstinent for like two weeks might help you feeling better already."

Rapstinence 

{Noun} The act of voluntarily committing to abstain from listening to rap music based on a biased opinion. Most of the time these are stupid reasons like "rap isnt music, its garbage" or "rap isnt pleasing to Jesus"

People who do this have really bad taste in music and are always prepared with a handful of crappy slogans such as, "Rap is Crap!" or "RAP=retards attempting poetry!"

Normal Kid: Hey let's listen to the new Snoop Dogg album I just bought!

Luis: No thank you, i just took a rapstinence pledge. Lets listen to something else like... DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE!!

Normal Kid: *leaves the room*
