A character from Ann McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series, Lessa is the Benden Weyrwoman during the Ninth Pass, and rider of the gold dragon Ramoth. Lessa's ability to psychically influence the thoughts and actions of others plays a role in various parts of the series. She is a badass.
