pronunciation:
jih-nih-MOH-tré

a word derived from nothing but a collection of familiar combinations of letters.
it would mean nothing to anyone besides me if i weren't to create this definition.
so why did i create it?
it represents this very existential question about what language really means, how people like you and me interpret a simple combination of line strokes, how they are given meaning.
in other words, "jinimotre" is a result of overthinking language.
and despite it not being derived from any other word, it is completely and utterly unoriginal in nature. many think the exact same way as i do, but at least they're not crazy enough to write it into urban dictionary.
jerry: hey ben! wanna go grab some ice cream?
ben: what does "ice cream" really mean? why do i understand what it means? it's just a collection of sounds and yet, it carries meaning, how do i know exactly what you're talking about?
jerry: knock it off, master of jinimotre. we all know it's a result of countless years of exposure and associating sounds and letters with ideas, objects, and people. your brain is a learning machine that finds meaning in these patterns.
ben: perhaps, but it still feels weird. i'm going to dive further into an existential crisis and think myself to death
jerry: bruh
