Gangharasspost

A specific tactic within gangharassment: a post (tweet, thread, video, Reddit post) designed to summon a mob against a target. The gangharasspost frames the target as uniquely harmful, often using selective evidence, exaggerated claims, or outright fabrications, and concludes with an implied or explicit call to action—report, block, contact employers, or simply pile on. The post itself becomes the coordination hub, and its author serves as the mobs leader while maintaining plausible deniability (“I didn’t tell anyone to harass her, I just posted the truth”). Gangharassposting weaponizes platform algorithms, as the post’s visibility ensures the mob grows exponentially.
Example: “He posted a thread with out‑of‑context screenshots, captioned ‘This person is dangerous.’ Within a day, thousands had shared it, and the target’s accounts were all suspended. Gangharasspost: one post, one mob, one destroyed reputation.”

Gangharassment

A form of coordinated harassment where multiple individuals—often organized through social media platforms, servers, or forums—target a single person or a small group with sustained, often simultaneous attacks. Unlike individual harassment, gangharassment leverages numbers to overwhelm, isolate, and terrorize the target. The harassment can take many forms: a flood of hostile messages, coordinated reporting campaigns, doxxing, spreading false rumors across communities, or following the target from space to space. Gangharassment exploits the asymmetry of scale: one person facing ten or fifty makes it impossible to defend, to be heard, or to escape. It is often framed by perpetrators as “just holding someone accountable” or “the community responding to toxicity,” but its effect is systematic destruction of the target’s safety and reputation.
Example: “Within hours of the post going viral, fifty people had flooded her mentions, twelve had emailed her employer, and three had posted her address. Gangharassment: the mob as weapon.”

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
Some grebo passed with Sabbath playing on his stereo.
The Poppies are at no. 17? God, a grebo band in the charts!
They're playing nu-metal now, bloody grebos!
