In football if a player is fouled, a freekick will be awarded, it's simply a punishment for a foul.

Player 1: (gets fouled badly)
Referee: (gives out a yellow card and gives a freekick)

Collingwood Free Kick

In the game of Australian Rules Football, a free kick that is awarded by an umpire for no apparent reason. So called because they are most often awarded to players of the Collingwood Football Club. Also, a free kick awarded to a Collingwood player when one should rightly have been awarded to the opposition.

Collingwood player attempts to take a mark, drops the ball, is awarded a Collingwood Free Kick anyway.
