Being dekt is when a punk is "decked out" in all the stereotypical fashion inherent to the subculture - studded jackets/vests with band logos/political shit painted on them (or patches sewn on for denim jackets), chains, boots, bondage belts, pants with unnecessary zippers or gratuitous patches on them, band shirts or shirts with offensive art on it, the works. Being dekt whenever possible is often encouraged to show support for the punk subculture, although some punks shun being dekt for a "dressed down" approach of just a plain band shirt and a pair of jeans.
