When someone with similar or less knowledge and qualifications on a topic tries to explain something YOU know more or just as much about. All without being asked too or while repeating something you've already said ,sometimes using more complicatedterminology to seem superior in a group of others.
|Example 1|Gina: Martha was consplaining to the new hire how to use Microsoft excel...
Sam: But she doesn't even know how to use it??!!
|Example 2| Lee: I was talking to this girl I met about jojos bizarre adventure when this dude came up and started consplaining to her about Diamond is Unbreakable. She embraced the hell out of him when she started asking about speed wagon and he had no idea what she was talking about.
Cowsplaining - (v) (a blend of the word cow and the informal form splaining of the verb explaining) means "to explain something to someone, characteristically by BJP leaders to the people of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa and the North Eastern States, in a manner regarded as condescending or patronizing, about matters on which BJP leaders have no fcuking clue, such as literacy, healthcare, law and order and human development.
Example: "Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh (ranked at the very bottom of all Indian states for healthcare index) Cowsplaining to the people of Kerala (ranked number 1 for healthcare among all Indian states)"
A form of Digitalsplaining where the perpetrator explains to the target that they are a “con artist,” “charlatan,” or “grifter” who is “only in it for the money.” The consplainer often focuses on financial aspects—book sales, speaking fees, donations—to imply that any compensation invalidates the target’s work. The tactic frames the target’s motives as inherently corrupt, bypassing the need to address their actual arguments. Consplaining is common in attacks on activists, alternative practitioners, and anyone whose work challenges established industries.
Example: “He ignored her decade of free community work and instead posted a screenshot of her Patreon, explaining that she was a ‘grifter exploiting vulnerable people.’ Consplaining: reducing a life’s work to a bank account.”
