Can you not? 

A short phrase utilized primarily by highly intelligent and sophisticated human beings, especially those with two X chromosomes. Unlike the also popular "Can you not...", this unique phrase ends immedietely after "not" and may be phrased both as a question and as a statement. The speaker should assume that whomever he/she is conversing with is completely aware of the misdemeanor.
Matthew has just provoked Jackie and she is mildly annoyed and amused (but mostly annoyed).

Who does politics can choose the party to play with, the arguments to fight with, and the equivocal reasons to explain to the electorate, but can not choose the "favourite" priorities, budget deficits, environmental emergencies, and other embarrassing situations.
POLITICIAN: It's not my fault. The former mayor left a huge amount of budget deficit.

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.
