Coined by Tate McRae, a "boy x" is a boy who captures a girl's interest when she's still vulnerable after a breakup, but after the honeymoon phase, gets bored and leaves, causing the girl to be even more heartbroken.

XO Boy 

XO boys listen to The Weeknd/Abel Tesfaye. They're usually good looking with a fine taste in non-XO music as well. They are obsessed with lyrics and quote Trilogy, Kissland, Beauty Behind the Madness, Starboy, and After Hours songs.

They have usually been through a lot in life which led them to try out the darker XO sound. Some of them may come off as being sad but not all the time. They may also watch Anime and be open to different cultures or languages.
