Trade jargon; noun (present tense); noun(past tense); verb(active);
The presence of damage, or the act of damaging the working edge of a tool, leaving a gap.
i.e. using a knife to cut through a soft material embedded with a harder material (cardboard with staples, drywall with screws) might barn your blade.

"Stupid green horn barned my snips. Can't cut for shit anymore."
"Damnit, there's a huge barn in my blade now."
"This board is all barned out on the factory edge, let's use it for strips."

The best fucking Marvel character in existence and god damn you wish he was real. He would be a great friend and an even better boyfriend. Gentle and caring, afraid of harming you. Still living in the 90s and hating on technology, you would have to help him use anything that lit up. Somewhere around 90 years old, but who gives a shit. He's hot.
