Nonsensical Cinematography term used when you don't understand a single thing about the movie, so you are obliged to say something faux-meaningful about the director. Originally used in late 1980's in Limerick, Ireland by amateur would-be film critics before spreading urban areas and thence internationally (BMC)

tour de farce

The band's performance surprised the large gathering with a tour de force of popular (and some not so popular) music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. The variety spanned from Elvis to the Eurythmics, Black Sabbath to The Beatles, Mungo Jerry to Lady Smith Black Mumbazo, Santana to Simple Minds. Maybe it was more "tour de farce"!
