Like, literally not letting this day end, without the things being worked on or completed. To not stop until the thing is finished. To not rest or go to bed until you have completed the task.
Example, if you were running in a relay race, you wouldn't get the baton and then clock out for lunch. You would carry that baton directly to it's destination and as safely and quickly as possible, you wouldn't drop it or lose control of it, you would carry it with extreme care, your priority would be to get the baton to it's destination as quickly as possibly possible.
