the silence is deafening 

When way up in the mountains with no sounds, the silence does indeed get to be screamingly loud & deafening!

I doubted what I heard about the silence is deafening until I experienced it firsthand. What an amazing phenomena!

Metaphor for pirating or downloading content through mysterious means (presumably illegal means). Ambiguous means of describing pirating without saying the word directly .

Friend: Where did you watch the new episode of X?
