Skeevy

adj. Sleazy, disgusting, distasteful, shady, gross, creepy, icky. This slang word was popular in Brooklyn, NY, USA in the 1950's and 1960's. It comes from the Italian word Schifo; meaning, 'disgust'.

The word also came from a twitter message written by New Kids on the Block member, Jonathan Knight, on July 11th, 2009 around 9:45 AM, EST as a reply to "jordan_doll" who seemed to have doubted the existence of this word in the vernacular. Little did "jordan_doll" know, that indeed, Jonathan was right, as it IS a word with a real definition, and a very old history of it as well! :D
@JonathanRKnight said: "Hotel beds are skeevy... in Vegas the skeevyiest of all! Trying to sleep, but keep thinking I'm lying on a protein sponge!"

@Jordan_doll inadvertently used the conjugated form of the word "skeevy" in his reply to Jonathan, when he said: "Skeevyist?!? *looks in dictionary* nope can't find it"
