renaissance woman. A lady that can do it all, in and out of the home.

Prior to the world wars, men were the ones in the workforce while women stayed at home. When the men went off to war, there was a political campaign urging women to enter the workforce. The character portraying the "can do it all" spirit is Rosie the Riveter. She's able to balance both the home and work life.

An image that may have been seen is a woman holding an iron as well as a wrench.

She's such a Rosie the Riveter, look at her taking hold of both her home and work.
