heavy metal purism

Share definition Flag
Noun describing a mindset among certain heavy metal fans who are preoccupied with distinguishing between "true metal" and "false metal". Typically, heavy metal purists dislike false metal, which often is taken to include glam metal, nu metal, alternative metal and metalcore.

Heavy metal purism tends to be more prevalent among younger metalheads, especially black metal fans. Practitioners of heavy metal purism are sometimes referred to as heavy metal purists.

Also often referred to as "metal purism" or "metal-purism"
“I thought it was really cool,” says Henke remembering when Bring Me The Horizon talked wanting these futuristic sounds. “They’re so creative and had so many ideas about what they wanted.
“Sometimes we didn’t know quite what they had in mind,” adds Fredrik. “But in the end it all made sense.
Did it go against any ‘heavy metal purism’ you might have had?
“Haha, no,” he laughs. “Good stuff is good stuff, and bad stuff is bad stuff. They do it right. I think many bands will follow them.”

PRISM

PRISM, as its clumsy name suggests, is nothing more than a glorified modification of the popular Adonis admin commands that connects to a separate and independently managed server through Httpservice. Not only is PRISM designed in a way where significant security flaws exist in the form of LoadstringEnabled() being set to true and potential limitations on the gameplay due to poorly built-in anti-exploit mechanics, but also designed by a team of developers intent on advancing their self-interest over the will of the group by putting in as little effort into group projects as possible. For me, the constant kicking of BHNPS players when it was big was enough for me to believe that PRISM is detrimental in more way then one of gameplay. It is a shame that it is the official Plasma anti-exploit system.

The cool as fuck, all-powerful, all-knowing being on the Cartoon Network television show Adventure Time. He resides in the Time Room in the center of the multiverse, and can grant every being one wish. The wishes are powerful enough to change timelines, or even create/destroy worlds, and unless these wishes are extremely specific, they can have an unforeseen twist. He can also create material items for himself or others without it counting as a wish.
Jake: Make Finn ok! I wish for safe Finn!

Prismo: Wait.. dude, look.. I like you, so you should know my wishes always got an ironic twist to 'em. It's like a monkey's paw kind of thing.

Jake: What?!

Prismo: You just gotta be really specific. Say your wish is "I wish for a back rub". Who's gonna give it to you? A dirty man? A bear? And where does this masseuse come from? Do I zap some guy away from his family dinner, leave some kid traumatized?

Cosmic Owl: *gasp*

Prismo: "Mom where did dad go", "I don't know, son, he just disappeared from the table, sorry."

Jake: :Stares with jaw dropped:

Prismo: You see Jake, there's rules to this stuff. Wishing an event to be changes elements before and after it. Memories will be destroyed, babies will not be born, potential worlds could be evaporated by your wish.

Jake: :throws up:
