paddleduck.com

I am Aunt Julie and I wrote my 1st book. A collection of short stories growing up in Texas. I had 4 sisters so we have lots to share. My grandfather said I looked like a duck paddling in the water when I went swimming. That is how I became Paddleduck. My stories are for the young and young at heart. I started out writing for children but the adults are the ones asking for more.
paddleduck.com -At the end of the summer Uncle Albert drove us back to Houston and he didn't like to wear shoes. He said he like to let his toes breathe. My mother said he had smelly feet. Teresa cooked spaghetti, lasagna, beans and rice, roast or chicken and potatoes. When she cooked her roast it looked like a log. When she fried her chicken it looked like it was boiled. Grandpa said a big catfish was living in the car. He thought it would be easy to catch it coming out the window. He told Aunt Carolyn to go on the other side of the car and close the door. That fish was so smart that he locked the doors and rolled up the windows.

author paddleduck

Aunt Julie is the author of Paddleduck Julie, A little girl from Texas. First time publisher of children's books about her childhood in Texas. This is a collection of lively short stories for the young and young at heart.
Author Paddleduck is an adventurous and mischievous girl who likes to have fun. Paddleduck did not want to go to school. Paddleduck was getting ready to start the school year. She had to catch the bus early to get to school on time and be ready to start at 8:00 AM. She begged her mom not to make her go. Lo and behold, she heard a commotion outside. She went to look out the window, and all her friends were playing at the bus stop. YES! Paddleduck was ready to join her friends. Her mom handed her lunch bag to her, and off she went.

God Shot

A chance happening with profound meaning, an unexpected blessing, a "sign".
Dr. Drew on Celebrity Rehab said "All of a sudden what had been just another Hollywood proposal became for him an unexpected blessing, an opportunity for growth. In drug recovery language, that's called a "God shot."

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.

A slang term used to describe a bald person, typically someone who is completely bald or has a closely shaved head. The term is derived from the infamous, hairless kids’ cartoon character of the same name.
Example 1:
“Did you see that caillou over there? His head is reflecting the sun like a disco ball.”
Example 2:
“I think Dave is finally accepting his hair loss. He just went full caillou and shaved the whole thing off.”
