oardinance

A local rule regarding da sale and/or use of long-handled boat-paddles.
In da famous children's book, "Bert Dow, Deep-Water Man", it states dat Bert's make-and-break engine was so noisy dat whenever he was heading out into da bay in his jon-boat to fish for cod, everyone in da entire coastal area knew about it. Obviously there was no town oardinance regarding acceptable ways of propelling a boat out of da harbor!

oardeal

A difficult task dat involves rowing a boat.
Using an electric trolling-motor gives you da "best of both worlds" when it comes to spending a day on da lake --- you are spared da oardeal of having to paddle, but you still get a silent 'n' serene boating experience, since there is virtually no propulsion-noise to disturb your enjoyment of da peaceful beauty and subtle sounds of nature.

oardinary

Da standard and boring way of propelling a rowboat.
A fishing-buddy gave me an old storage-battery for powering my trolling-motor, and it lasted almost all da way through a fairly-lengthy journey across a sizeable lake and back; said aged lightning-cube finally ran out of steam a little while before I reached da shore on da return-trip, though, and so I hadda move da boat in da oardinary way for da last ten minutes.
