head music

Head music is term that originated in the Midwest in the 1970s. The term is used to describe a quality within a song, an album, or an artist’s body of work that puts you in a deep contemplative place. Head music isn’t exactly a genre in the traditional sense, but could include certain 60s psychedelic, 70s prog rock, and beyond. Though head music is a cross-genre phenomenon - there are some common elements which generally include droning base or synthesizer sounds, long crescendoing guitar solos, and if there are lyrics they are deeply moving, thought provoking, and paint vivid imagery. Head music transports you to a different place. It creates an atmosphere where the listener and the musicians are one.
Person one:
”Here, listen to this! It’s head music... Put on some headphones and listen to the whole album straight through without interruption.”

Person two: “Should I smoke some grass before hand?”

Person one: “Definitely!”

Headphone Music

Music and songs which make far less sense unless they're listened to on a decent set of headphones. It also helps bigtime to be under the influence of basically ANY mind altering substance when listening to the song/s.
Yo, I listened to 'Zion Train' by Bob Marley last night on headphones, dude. I could hear every cymbal crash, cow bell, bass riff... It was off the wall. Bob was speaking to me, bro. I've listened to that song a million times, but after that smoking out and doing it headphone music style? I realize that Bob was a fucking prophet on Earth, man. Damn this is some good weed.

Headphone Music

1. Music that hits when you're alone in the car or using headphones but instantly sounds wack af the moment it gets played for someone else, comparable to the way electrons have different behaviors based on whether or not they're being actively observed.

2. Music that needs multiple listens to enjoy meaning whoever is listening on aux with you is not having a good time.
Person one: Yo do you fw Bladee?

Person two: Of course!
Person one: So why don't you ever play him on aux?
Person two: Bladee makes headphone music, can't play that shit in open air.

musichead

Someone who is an avid music listener. They listen to music ALL the time, and usually are the type of people who know about the latest music. Also they are always trying to put you on a new artist, etc. They also just don't listen to music, they know why the artist wrote the song, what it means, etc. They also are somewhat of a music critic too. It started in Baltimore, vice versa the meaning for sneakerhead. I thought if sneaker lovers had a word & definition, then so should music lovers !
Steve: Did you hear Kendrick Lamar's Section.80?
Diana: No, I don't even know who that is!
Steve: Well you should!!!
Diana: Steve, your such a musichead!
