Derived from Mubarak, the man who ruled Egypt 31 years. A Mubarakoid is a dictator's pawn. Their thug-like behavior is characterized by: beating, abducting, and even killing peaceful protesters and journalists.

Mubaraked

To be robbed of one's legacy because of one's refusal to move on professionally.

For instance, when a formerly great sports player refuses to retire after several bad years and finds himself without a contract and a massively deflated legacy. It also applies when a former prodigy clings on, refusing to accept that her moment of greatness has passed, thereby demeaning her former glory.
It's not that Robert wanted to leave, he just figured it was better to take the retirement package now rather than find himself mubaraked in a few years.
