Someone who tortures himself by attending as many Catholic religious services as possible each day.

Being a Massochist may seem odd to some, but Big Oil loves them, since in order to "feed their habit", they are obliged to drive a multitude of miles around a large area to patronize all the Catholic churches that are holding services on that particular day.

The Unus Annus trolley problem. If you do nothing, Mark and Ethan will be crushed by the trolley, but none of the unus annus videos will be deleted. If you pull the lever, all the videos will disappear, but Mark and Ethan will live. Ethan is sleeping peacefully and is unaware of the danger but Mark wants to be hit by the trolley NOT because he's a masochist but just because he wants to see if his body can handle it. Go on. He wants you to do it. He can take it. You don't need to worry about Ethan. Just let him rest. It will be okay. Just let it happen.

Masochistic Friendship

1. Deriving pleasure from the pain of a friendship that you wish was something more.

2. Protecting a friendship by not making a move despite having feelings for the other party involved.

3. Attempting to remain friends with a person that broke up with you, knowing full well it will destroy you.

The guy knew that continuing to talk too, and hang out with, her would mean he's in a masochistic friendship at best.

He has so many girls as friends that one or two are bound to be masochistic friendships.
