Mamuta is a sloth thing from the pikmin series. It is in the ??? family. The imbalanced, asymmetrical arms of the mamuta are among its most notable features. Feeding on seeds and fruit, the mamuta is known to actually sow and grow plant species. While other species have exhibited seed-burying behavior for the purpose of storage, the mamuta is the only species so far known to actually cultivate fields of plants. Mamuta also hatch from eggs. Mamta is an awesomely beautiful girl with long brown hair and a smile that puts that of the stars to shame. Maruta 

1) Maruta translates into the Japanese word for wood or logs.

2) The name of a Hentai comic

3) (commonly) Mad Scientist slang for one or more non volunteer human subjects.

Due to the mad scientists at Unit 731 and their use of the word as a secret synonym for "non volunteer human subjects"

the word will usually refer to "human subject", rather than actual "wood" when it is spoken in an non Japanese non wood related context.
Especially after the film "Men Behind the Sun" in which there is a scene explaining the meaning of "maruta" to a group of young cadets who have not done their homework.

The secret synonym of "logs" was chosen due to the fact that Unit 731 and its operations at a point was disguised as a lumber-mill, plus that most of the experiments would involve cutting up the logs and that these would be put in the stove and burned at the end to dispose of the evidence.

So if a mad scientists conducting some unofficial research asks you to bring maruta, he/she will usually be disappointed if you show up with firewood.

In popular culture:

As with many other Unit 731 related words it is also the name of a band and several songs in the heavy metal, thrash metal and Grindcore genre

Incompetent people in the manufacturing industry. They make things (like a Yamato toy) that look deceptively good in quality, but breaks after gentle transformation. Manutards know everything there is to know in manufacturing like their normal colleagues, but they choose to be special instead.

Manutards can be found everywhere. The largest concentration of manutards however, can only be found working for Yamato toys, Japan.

A bunch of 'Mean Girls' wannabes that wears pink, owns a fucking burn book, and always say sksksk in every fucking sentence. They also have matching shirts, and spills wine instead of tea because they are 'classy as fuck'. They are also a group of people who wanted to sabotage prom, so they're not that bad at least.

I can hear the noise of Mautans whining over ice-skating because it might ruin their feat, damn.
