MS 13 

They're a violent force in 33 states and counting. Mara Salvatrucha. the gang has a uniquely international profile, with an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 members in 33 states in the United States (out of more than 700,000 gang members overall)It's considered the fastest-growing, most violent and least understood of the nation's street gangs. MS-13 got started in Los Angeles in the 1980s by Salvadorans fleeing a civil war. Many of the kids grew up surrounded by violence.

gang members armed with machetes hacked away at a member of the South Side Locos, slicing off some of his fingers and leaving others dangling by a shred of skin. Only a week later in Herndon, a member of the 18th Street gang was pumped full of .38-caliber bullets, while his female companion, who tried to flee, was shot in the back. The assailant, according to a witness, had a large tattoo emblazoned on his forehead. It read MS,"MS 13"

Stands for Mar Salvatruchas Trece (thirteen in Spanish, taken from the Southsiders or Sur 13)
Mara Salvatruchas means something like Gangster Salvadoran Soldiers....
Anyway, MS-13 is THE most dangerous gang in America, possibly the world. Why? THey have no purpose other than beating, shooting, and chopping up rival gang members...the problem is, they don't check to make sure someone's a rival before they kill them, they tend to stab first ask later. If you see MS-13 graffiti in your hood, don't freak out...most sets that claim Ms-13 are posers trying to get the same attention. Beware, MS-13 is nationwide and also in MExico and El Salvador.
They formed in a funny way....there was a war in El Salvador, so a bunch of Salvadorans moved to LA. THere, they copied the Mexicans in LA and made gangs. The cops busted and deported these gangsters.....and accidentally spread them across the border, multiplying theire numbers. They beat in their members to ensure toughness, and they attack with knives and machetes rather than guns because stabbing is more "up close and personal" so it creates real fear. So yeah...the real MS is scary as hell, the poser MS is laughable.
Colors are blue and white....don't confuse with Sur X3 who also uses blue and number 13.

MS-13 members might chop up a guy who they THINk iss a rival gangbanger, but won't check to make sure he IS a rival gangbanger....and they show no remorse whatsoever.

1500 characters is way too short. These other definitions are comedies. They came from El Salvador, refugees from the decade-long civil war. These refugees were discriminated, etc. within the Latino community and were ostracized as a result. They formed the "Mara Salvatrucha Stoners." Initially they weren't violent, all they did was get high and party-even partied with other gangs. They began to accumulate foes when they moved into dealing drugs, including on Mexican territory. Hostilities increased when a member of 18th (Mexican) shot a member of MS during a fight in a party. Blows between MS and rivals especially 18th were exchanged. "Mara"=Gang, "Salvatrucha"=Term used to honor Salvadoran peasants trained as guerrilla fighters. "13" was included to honor the Mexican Mafia (most influential prison gang in all of CA), which sought to broker peace between MS-13 and 18th for economic reasons. The MM controlled the drug business of Latino gangs on LA streets and in order to make it more efficient (dealers were afraid to stand on the corner and sell for fear of being shot and killed), they got both gangs to meet (there's actual video of this) and divided MacArthur Park where both gangs could sell their stash. From there, they dropped "stoners" from their name and adopted "13." 13=M, the 13th letter in the alphabet, hence they became known as "MS-13." They're not the only gang to adopt "13," other Latino gangs that have it. It symbolizes your close affiliation with the MM.

MS-13 is one of the most feared and respected gangs in America (it's a commonly held belief, even law enforcement will tell you this).

MS-13

MS13 is the most brutal gang in America. It has many members and is spreading like wild-fire across America. MS-13 stands for Mara Salvatrucha which is Spanish for "Street Tough Salvadoran Posse". The number 13 is synonomous with any Latino gang. The process for initian requires the inductee to undergo 13 seconds of beat down (the inductee is not allowed to protect himself in any way).

MS-13 Member #1- "Hey chico, lets go rape us some chiquitas"

MS-13 Member #2- "Good idea man, that is an excellent way for us dirty Spics to pay back the nation that gave us our basic freedoms and rights."
