Knickname also spelled nickname, is an alternative version of the proper term for a name added to or substituted for the proper name of a person, place, etc., as in affection, ridicule, or familiarity.

Proper use of the term Knickname is demonstrated when one places another persons "Knickname" or "Nickname" in between their first and last name.

It usually occurs in communities where it is usually tight-knit and/or very shitpost focused. Sometimes it is done for laughs, but other times is done as actual gatekeeping.
Mark: Can you believe it, I keep getting targeted because my name text is white, damn Nickname Color Racism.
